Submission Guidelines

Submissions must use the provided CIC powerpoint template.

  • Only one presentation submission per main author.
  • A title and a one paragraph abstract overview/description
  • Names of the author and speaker, plus any co-authors (up to 9 co-authors). If a speaker is not based in the U.S., provide a name of a U.S. based co-author or team member who can present as a backup in case the speaker cannot attend due to international travel restrictions.
  • Speaker notes for any included diagrams.

Note: Presentations that have been created for other events (such as DAC or CadenceLIVE) will be considered but should be tailored for the CIC audience.

If you’re intending to file a patent on a particular innovation, and you want to describe that innovation at CIC, the patent must be filed before the conference. If this isn’t possible, please defer the presentation to next event.

Submission Tips

You can submit an idea for a poster and/or a presentation.

  • Make your submission as descriptive and close to its final presentation version as possible, to give the review committee enough information about your idea, the innovation and what your presentation would look like.
  • We highly discourage single slide presentations or just abstracts. Please remember that the more information the committee has, the better they can assess how your submission could fit into the program.
  • We recommend doing an internal peer review of your work prior to submission to increase the quality of your submission.
  • It is acceptable to present innovations that span multiple years, such as “Five Years of Innovation in Innovus Placement” or “The Inner Workings of the Clarity 3D Solver”.
  • Presentations are generally 30 minutes long (20 minutes of content, and 10 minutes for questions).
  • Posters are a highlight of CIC and have equal standing with the presentation tracks. Posters provide an opportunity to connect with the audience that presentations lack, allowing for in-person brainstorming and collaboration, and are a terrific forum for more narrow technical content that may not be suitable for a broader audience.
  • For poster submissions, submit your content for a poster on the PPT template. The poster template will be available after the selections are finalized.
  • For the posters, there is a maximum of 3 of the portrait (vertical) layout or 2 of the landscape (horizontal) style layout. You can also mix and match styles with 1 portrait and 1 landscape.
